Sculpture is taught in both relief and armature formats with an emphasis on planning, composition and scale. Students are taught how to sculpt using oil based clay on armature in preparation for the foundry process. Instructors provide both individual guidance and group critiques. Students develop their compositions based on still life material, live models and historical reference materials gathered from special demonstrations, exhibitions, and field trips.
