Scholarship Criteria and Application
Scholarship positions to the Western Art Academy are awarded through the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The application rules and guidelines can be found on their website at https://www.rodeohouston.com/exhibitors-contestants/school-art-contest/.
Application forms are given to all ninth, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are Best of Show, Gold Medal, or Special Merit winners in the annual School Art competition. Representatives of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Committee interview qualifying applicants and review their applications and artwork portfolios. Winners are announced at the School Art Program awards ceremony during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
